Overview
This privacy policy explains what information Discover Luoyang collects, why we collect it, and how it is handled. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to answer your enquiry, we do not sell or rent your data to anyone, and we keep personal information only for as long as it is needed.
Information you give us — the contact form
When you use the contact form, you send us the details you choose to provide: typically your name, your email address, your travel dates and group size, and the content of your message. This information is used for one purpose only: to respond to your enquiry and, if you ask, to help plan your Luoyang trip.
Our contact form is processed through Formspree, a third-party form service. Formspree receives and stores your submission on its servers and forwards it to our team by email. Formspree’s own privacy practices are described on their website at formspree.io. By submitting the form you consent to your details being sent to, and processed by, Formspree for this purpose.
Email communication
When you contact us by form, we reply by email. We use your email address only for that correspondence — we do not add you to marketing lists, and we do not share your address with third parties. If you later contact us by email directly, the same applies: your address is used solely to conduct the conversation you started.
What we do not collect
- No account system. You do not create an account on this site.
- No booking or payment processing. We never ask for — and you should never provide — payment card details, passport numbers or bank information through this site or its contact form.
- No tracking for advertising. We do not run advertising cookies or use your activity to serve you ads.
Analytics and cookies
As of the last review of this policy, this website does not install analytics scripts or tracking cookies on visitors’ devices. We aim to keep it that way.
Should we add analytics in the future, it will be aggregate and anonymised (visitor counts, pages viewed, approximate location data), used solely to understand which guides are useful, and it will not be used to build profiles or for advertising. We will update this policy before doing so.
Our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) and the services that deliver this site’s files may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request times) for security and operational purposes, as described in their own policies.
Third-party links
Guides on this site link to external websites — official ticket sites, rail bookers, hotels and similar. We link to them as a convenience; once you leave this site, their privacy policies apply. We choose these links carefully but are not responsible for third-party content or practices.
How long we keep your data
Correspondence initiated through the contact form is kept only as long as needed to complete your enquiry and any trip planning you ask for. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so promptly — see below.
Your choices and rights
- Corrections and deletion. Contact us via the contact form (or reply to any email you have received from us) to correct or delete the personal information you sent us. We will act on reasonable requests without unnecessary delay.
- Formspree. As the processor of form submissions, Formspree offers its own controls and deletion procedures; contacting us remains the simplest way to have your submission removed.
Children’s privacy
This site is a travel guide intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the services we use change. The latest version is always available at this page. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
Questions
If you have any question about this policy or about your data, use the contact form — we are happy to explain exactly what we hold.
